General information

Term

The project may span over a maximum period of 36 months.

Response time

The regular response time is three months when the request is fully completed.

Evaluation criteria

Each project will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Economic criteria and GHG (elimination criterion)
  2. Innovative nature of the technology or process
  3. Project quality and technical feasibility
  4. Abilities of the applicant and his/her partners
  5. Market potential and qualitative assessment
  6. Joint benefits of the project

GHG emissions for every project must be quantified before and after the demonstration project in accordance with ISO-14064 part 2. Once the demonstration project is completed, the verification of the project’s GHG emission reduction is carried out by a third party in accordance with ISO-14064 part 3 but remains optional. However, the Department may, under certain circumstances, require this verification after the project has been analyzed and accepted. 

Project authorization

Projects are submitted for approval to the ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF) along with the committee’s recommendations. The committee is composed of representatives from the ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs (MDDEP), the ministère du Développement économique, de l’Innovation et de l’Exportation (MDEIE) and the ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (MRNF).
