Recommissioning of Building Mechanical Systems Program

The Recommissioning of Building Mechanical Systems Program consists of paying part of the costs of the five phases associated with the recommissioning of a building that will be carried out by an accredited agent. The five phases are: planning, investigation, implementation, transfer and on-going monitoring. The program has been introduced by Gaz Métro, Hydro-Québec, and the Bureau de l'efficacité et de l'innovation technologiques of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune. This partnership means that the registration process is simpler since the documents to be completed to obtain financial assistance will serve either Gaz Métro or Hydro-Québec.

Refrigeration optimization program – Arenas & curling rinks (OPTER)

The refrigeration optimization program (OPTER) is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving energy. It has three main objectives:
  • optimizing heat recovery systems by integrating the refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • adapting the refrigeration system to local conditions
  • using less polluting refrigerants and reducing the amount of refrigerant in existing systems.
Commercial, Municipal Ministère des Ressources naturelles

Refrigeration Optimization Program (OPTER) - Supermarket Component

Are you the owner of a supermarket refrigeration system? Want to optimize this system while cutting down the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions it produces? If you answered “Yes,” then the Refrigeration Optimization Program – Supermarket Component is for you. It aims to reduce the amount of refrigerants used, notably by encouraging supermarkets to install secondary loops, use more ecological refrigerants, and adopt integrated refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems to reduce GHG emissions from fuel burning equipment in their buildings.

Implementation incentive for energy efficiency measures

You can receive up to $25,000 in financial assistance per building served by natural gas when you implement energy efficiency measures. Here are a few examples of measures which may be eligible for financial assistance: addition of controls on ventilation or heating systems or on a process; heat recovery on a ventilation system, on combustion products from a furnace or boiler, or from drain water; optimization of a combustion system; insulation on the pipes of a warm water or steam heating system.

Implementation incentive for energy efficiency measures (major industries)

You can receive up to $175,000 in financial assistance per building served by natural gas when you implement energy efficiency measures.

Intermediate energy-efficiency boiler

This program integrates heating technologies and procedures that offer intermediate energy efficiency. It includes all units with an efficiency rating of 85% to 89% (excluding condenser units). The program focus is existing buildings as well as new construction, and is of interest to both current and new clients.
Industrial, Commercial, Municipal, Institutional Gaz Métro

Manufacturing sector support program

The Manufacturing sector support program helps firms make the move toward sustainable development and improve their competitiveness by reducing their consumption of certain target fuels (light fuel oil, propane and butane). Financial assistance is available for conducting analyses and for implementing energy efficient measures that target these fuels.
Industrial, Agri-food Ministère des Ressources naturelles

Condensing boilers

This program is focused on heating technologies and procedures that offer an energy efficiency rating of more than 90%. The program is for existing buildings as well as new construction, and is of interest to both current and new clients.
Institutional, Industrial, Municipal, Commercial Gaz Métro

Condensing water heaters

The program encourages clients to buy and install condensing water heaters with an energy efficiency rating of more than 90%. It is aimed at both existing buildings and new construction, and is of interest to both current and new clients.
Institutional, Commercial, Industrial, Municipal Gaz Métro

Feasibility studies and energy simulations

This program deals with feasibility studies designed to encourage clients to engage the services of specialists to determine energy efficiency opportunities as they relate to natural gas, and to suggest means of exploiting those opportunities. This program helps defray part of the cost of an energy simulation that determines the ways of improving the energy efficiency of a building. It is intended exclusively for commercial clients (CII).
