The Department offers a free “Teaching the basics of ecodriving” course to Québec driving school instructors.
The course helps instructors improve their ecodriving knowledge and easily teach the ecodriving module now included in the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ)’s mandatory Road Safety Education Program for those seeking to obtain their Class 5 passenger vehicle learner’s license. The successful completion of this course is an eligibility criterion of the Ecomobile pilot project.
Name of the course: Teaching the basics of ecodriving
Cost: Free training offered to target group
Instructor: The course is given by a seasoned instructor selected by the Department.
Target group: Driving school instructors recognized by the Association québécoise du transport et des routes (AQTR) as well as company instructors or those acting as such within an organization.
Course objectives: To learn more about basic ecodriving principles
By the end of the day, the participants should be able to:
Course structure
The Department will issue a certificate to the participants who successfully passed the exam with a grade of 70% or more.
To date, close to 200 instructors from over 60 Québec driving schools have taken this course.
