L'efficacité énergétique et l'éclairage extérieur : un moyen pour réduire la pollution lumineuse (PDF | 1,2 Mo)

Energy efficient outdoor lighting: a way to reduce light pollution
The ASTROLab firm in Mont Mégantic has developed an initiative to combat light pollution by minimizing the adverse effects of outdoor lighting. The actions taken were aimed at meeting outdoor lighting needs while preserving access to the night sky.

The expertise developed over the past two years has helped promote a better understanding of current lighting practices in Quebec and emerging trends, while favouring an innovative approach to finding solutions.

In light of the firm’s experience, a document presents:

  • a brief description of current lighting practices
  • an estimate of the energy potential for Québec
  • an implementation strategy that combines energy efficiency with a reduction in light pollution.
